FTC Disclosure

Beginning December 1, 2009, the FTC requires bloggers & influencers to disclose whenever there could be hidden interests or unspoken bias related to recommendations.

Per the FTC rules, if we film in a restaurant and they treat us to lunch, we would need to disclose this. Ditto if we use an Amazon link that gets us 8 cents instead of an Amazon link that gets us 0 cents. If someone invites us to stay in a hotel for free, same thing. Disclaimers all over the place.

This would be tedious for us and even more tedious for our audience. But rules is rules. To cover ourselves and preserve your reading and viewing experience, please assume that, for every outside link and product mentioned on this site, all of the following is true:

  • We got fed and/or paid
  • We got some sweet gadgets
  • We got to do something for free
